Silicon Labs was founded by
Crystal Semiconductor (now owned by
Cirrus Logic Inc.) alumni Nav Sooch, Dave Welland and Jeff Scott in 1996. It became a publicly traded company in 2000. The deal was closed on July 26, 2021. In July 2021, it was announced that Tyson Tuttle would be stepping down as CEO. In January 2022, former president Matt Johnson completed the transition into the CEO position.
