2020 census As of the
2020 census, Solomons had a population of 2,650. The median age was 63.6 years. 9.4% of residents were under the age of 18 and 47.5% of residents were 65 years of age or older. For every 100 females there were 78.0 males, and for every 100 females age 18 and over there were 76.5 males age 18 and over. 100.0% of residents lived in urban areas, while 0.0% lived in rural areas. There were 1,280 households in Solomons, of which 14.1% had children under the age of 18 living in them. Of all households, 46.3% were married-couple households, 15.5% were households with a male householder and no spouse or partner present, and 34.1% were households with a female householder and no spouse or partner present. Welsh heritage. This was the highest percentage of Welsh Americans of any place in Maryland. There were 689 households, out of which 15.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 47.8% were married couples living together, 4.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 45.1% were non-families. 39.0% of all households were made up of individuals, and 24.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 1.97 and the average family size was 2.56. In the CDP, the population was spread out, with 13.1% under the age of 18, 3.1% from 18 to 24, 21.0% from 25 to 44, 21.2% from 45 to 64, and 41.7% who were 65 years of age or older.
