The Sphaeropsis are a genus of fungi, within the family Botryosphaeriaceae, the order Botryosphaeriales, and the class Dothideomycetes. They are plant pathogens.

Etymology
Sphaeropsis is derived from the New Latin from sphaer meaning sphere or globe and opsis meaning appearance, vision. So named as the species are similar in form to the fungal genus Sphaeria , (in the Hypoxylaceae family, Xylariales order). ==Hosts==
