The main role and function of the council is to guarantee the independence of the judiciary, maintain discipline of judges, and to assure the good functioning of the courts of the Kingdom of Cambodia. The council also decides and raise its recommendation to the King about the appointments, transfers, disruptions from actual service, suspensions of job, and removals of cadre or title for all judges and prosecutors. According to Article 2 of the Law on the Organization and Function of the Supreme Council of the Magistracy, the council consists of 9 members: •
