For a 40-year period from 1923 to 1963, the district had operated
Swedesboro High School. The school closed after Kingsway Regional High School opened in September 1963. Designed to accommodate an enrollment of 1,000 and constructed at a cost of $1.75 million, the school opened in for students in grades 7-12, including students in grades 9-12 who had previously attended Swedesboro High School.
