Swiss Figure Skating Championships

The Swiss Figure Skating Championships are an annual figure skating competition organized by Swiss Ice Skating to crown the national champions of Switzerland. National championships in figure skating were first held in Switzerland alongside speed skating and ice hockey in 1919 in St. Moritz. Competitions were held intermittently in St. Moritz between 1919 and 1927, as the availability of suitable ice surfaces, like frozen rinks and lakes, was dependent on the weather. When the championships returned in 1931, a separate event for women was included. Pair skating was added as an event in 1933, and ice dance in 1960. Since 1931, the Swiss Championships have been cancelled only once: in 2021, owing to the COVID-19 pandemic.
