Racial and ethnic composition 2020 census As of the
2020 census, there were 3,704 people, 1,358 households, and 1,164 families residing in the city. The median age was 48.1 years, with 21.0% of residents under the age of 18 and 24.1% aged 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 98.9 males, and for every 100 females age 18 and over there were 96.5 males. There were 1,358 households in Taylor Lake Village, of which 33.4% had children under the age of 18 living in them. Of all households, 71.9% were married-couple households, 9.7% were households with a male householder and no spouse or partner present, and 15.6% were households with a female householder and no spouse or partner present. About 14.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 8.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.

In the city, the population was spread out, with 25.6% under the age of 18, 4.3% from 18 to 24, 22.7% from 25 to 44, 34.2% from 45 to 64, and 13.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 44 years. For every 100 females, there were 97.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 95.2 males.
