Editors at AllMusic rated this album 3.5 out of 5 stars, with critic Thom Jurek writing that Hawwkind co-founder Dave Brock "shows no sign of slowing down" and this album "is, at once, more exciting and musically adventurous—even with the (minor) missteps" and "a significant late-career highlight from Hawkwind.".
