He finished fourth in the
heptathlon at the
NCAA Indoor Championships in March 2023 in
Albuquerque, New Mexico. He won bronze in the heptathlon at the
NCAA Indoor Championships in March 2024 in
Boston, Massachusetts. In 2024, he became a four-time USTFCCCA First-Team All-American, a three-time Big Ten Champion, and was named the Big Ten Men’s Field Athlete of the Year. Steinforth achieved a personal best score in the
decathlon of 8287 points at the
Mehrkampf-Meeting Ratingen in June 2024. He was originally named as an alternate, but was a late entry to compete in the decathlon at the
2024 Summer Olympics in
Paris, finishing in 15th place overall. On 8 March 2025, he was a bronze medalist in the heptathlon at the
2025 European Athletics Indoor Championships in
