She and her husband
Dan Talbot operated four influential
art-house cinemas on the
Upper West Side of
Manhattan. They operated the New Yorker Theater from 1960 to 1973, Cinema Studio from 1977 to 1990, the
Metro Theater from 1982 to 1987, and the Lincoln Plaza Cinemas from 1981 to 2018. Talbot was the education editor of the Spanish-language newspaper
El Diario Nueva York and was a Spanish literature instructor at
Columbia University and
New York University, taught a documentary film course at
the New School, and was a Spanish teacher at
East Rockaway High School in
Queens. In 2022, after her husband's death, she edited his memoir
In Love with the Movies, which has a foreword by
