Racial and ethnic composition 2020 census As of the
2020 census, there were 6,568 people, 2,183 households, and 1,527 families residing in the city; the median age was 33.0 years, 28.7% of residents were under the age of 18, 8.7% were under 5 years of age, and 12.7% were 65 years of age or older; for every 100 females there were 99.6 males, and for every 100 females age 18 and over there were 98.8 males age 18 and over. Of the 2,183 households, 41.9% had children under the age of 18 living in them, 38.2% were married-couple households, 20.8% were households with a male householder and no spouse or partner present, 29.2% were households with a female householder and no spouse or partner present, 22.4% were made up of individuals, and 9.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
