2020 census As of the 2020 census, Veblen had a population of 317. The median age was 33.6 years, with 30.6% of residents under the age of 18 and 12.9% aged 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 108.6 males, and for every 100 females age 18 and over there were 126.8 males age 18 and over. 0.0% of residents lived in urban areas, while 100.0% lived in rural areas. There were 118 households in Veblen, of which 39.0% had children under the age of 18 living in them. Of all households, 36.4% were married-couple households, 32.2% were households with a male householder and no spouse or partner present, and 22.0% were households with a female householder and no spouse or partner present. About 29.7% of all households were made up of individuals and 16.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. Of the 151 households 25.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 31.1% were married couples living together, 10.6% had a female householder with no husband present, 6.0% had a male householder with no wife present, and 52.3% were non-families. 33.8% of households were one person and 16.5% were one person aged 65 or older. The average household size was 3.52 and the average family size was 3.18. Of the 141 households, 22.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 35.5% were married couples living together, 11.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 48.2% were non-families. 47.5% of households were one person and 29.1% were one person aged 65 or older. The average household size was 1.99 and the average family size was 2.79. The age distribution was 25.3% under the age of 18, 5.7% from 18 to 24, 18.5% from 25 to 44, 19.9% from 45 to 64, and 30.6% 65 or older. The median age was 45 years. For every 100 females, there were 87.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 81.0 males. The median household income was $18,583 and the median family income was $20,625.
