Generation 1 Akshara and Naitik, both from large Marwari joint families based in Udaipur get married. Initially, they struggle to understand each other but gradually come to understand, support, and love each other. Soon, their son, Naksh is born. However, Naitik falls into a coma due to an accident. Four years later, Akshara started working in the family business. Naitik recovers from the coma and struggles to bond with a mischievous Naksh. Naitik's mother Gayatri dies after falling off a cliff. His sister Rashmi gives birth to a daughter and names her Gayatri. Soon Akshara and Naitik's daughter Naira is born. Naitik's uncle Mahendra dies and Kaveri blames Akshara for it and disowns her. Akshara and Naitik move out with their children. Ten years later, Akshara and Naitik relocated to Cape Town along with Naksh and Naira. Naksh returns to Udaipur and convinces Kaveri to forgive an innocent Akshara. Eventually, the family is reunited. Soon Naksh falls for Nayantara, a hockey player, and their marriage is fixed but she runs away on marriage day due to misunderstandings. To cheer up a depressed Naksh family goes on a picnic where Naira's friend Sukanya accidentally dies and she misunderstands that Akshara holds her responsible for Sukanya's death and flees from Udaipur in fear of being arrested. Generation 2 Seven years later, Naira lives in an orphanage in Rishikesh. Akshara finds her, brings her back and they eventually reconcile. Soon Naira and Kartik fall for each other while Gayatri also falls for Kartik but sacrifices her love seeing Naira and Kartik's love for each other. Akshara accidentally dies by falling off a cliff and Kartik is held responsible for it. Kartik and Naira get married after his innocence is proven and after that everyone gets to know that Kartik's cousin, Mansi is the cause of Akshara's death but they forgive Mansi . Kartik's sister Keerti divorces her abusive husband Aditya and marries Naksh and eventually, they fall for each other. Soon Kartik's misunderstandings regarding his parents Manish and Swarna are cleared and it is revealed that Shubham is his half-brother but he dies of a drug overdose and Naira is blamed for hiding his drug addiction. She leaves the house. Two years later, Naira lives in Mumbai with Naitik to complete her studies while Kartik is appointed as a professor in the same college. Soon Kartik realizes his mistake but Naira suffers a brain clot and they unite after her recovery. Soon Naira and Keerti are revealed to be pregnant. Keerti gives birth to a son but Naira's daughter dies. Soon she enters the business world and learns about her second pregnancy but Kartik questions Naira about her relationship with her boss Mihir. Naira moves out without informing her pregnancy and is presumed dead. Five years later, Naira now lives in Goa with her son Kairav. Soon Kartik learns that Naira is alive and Kairav is their son and they reconcile. A few months later, Naira and Kartik's daughter Akshara is born. However, on a family picnic, Naira falls off a cliff due to an accident and dies. Soon, Kairav meets a boxer Sirat; Naira's lookalike, and thinks she has returned. For him, Kartik brings Sirat to his house. She marries him after proving her innocence in her first husband Ranveer's death charges and Aarohi, their daughter, is born. Eight years later, Akshara and Aarohi are dissimilar. Akshara is timid and a music lover, but Aarohi is studious, smart, and outspoken. Akshara learns that Naira is her mother, not Sirat. Aarohi starts claiming a stake in Sirat after learning that Akshara is her half-sister. Kartik dies in a plane crash and Sirat also dies after falling off the temple's stairs. Aarohi blames Akshara for Sirat's death and starts to detest her. Generation 3 Twelve years later, Akshara is a singer now and uses music therapy while Dr. Abhimanyu Birla is a practicing surgeon. Aarohi also becomes a doctor and falls for Abhimanyu. However, Akshara and Abhimanyu are in love. After learning about their relationship, Aarohi breaks off her marriage with Abhimanyu and decides to move on with her career. After many conflicts, Akshara and Abhimanyu finally marry. Soon it is revealed that Abhimanyu's half-brother, Neil is actually Harshvarshan's son from an extra-marital affair and Manjari brought him home through adoption to give him motherly and family's love. Eventually, Abhimanyu's cousin Anisha and Kairav's marriage is fixed but Kairav learns of her affair with a married man. Scared of her truth coming out, Anisha threatens suicide but falls to her death. However, Kairav is blamed for her murder, and Abhimanyu and Akshara's relationship becomes strained. One year later, Akshara and Kairav now live in Mauritius. They return to India and the latter is proven innocent. Akshara and Abhimanyu reunite, while Neil and Aarohi are shown to be in love. Neil and Aarohi eventually sort out their differences and marry. Akshara and Aarohi become pregnant. Akshara and Neil try to rescue some girls from goons, which results in his death. Akshara is led to believe she miscarried as well. Aarohi blames Akshara for always being the reason behind the deaths of her loved ones. All the Birlas, including Abhimanyu, blame her for Neil's death and her miscarriage. Meanwhile, Abhimanyu divorces her and ousts her from his life. Akshara decides to leave everyone and is involved in a bus accident. She learns she is still pregnant as one of her twins survived. Abhimanyu refuses to listen to her, so Abhinav helps her and marries her for the sake of her child. Six years later, Akshara lives with her son, Abhir, and Abhinav in Kasauli while Abhimanyu has taken fatherly responsibilities for Aarohi's daughter Ruhi. Akshara decides to move on with Abhinav, while Abhimanyu is still in love with Akshara. Amidst all this, Kairav and Muskan fall in love and married, while Akshara and Aarohi also mend their relationship. Later on, Abhimanyu learns that Abhir is his son. Abhinav dies on his birthday after falling off a cliff. Abhimanyu is initially blamed for his death, but everyone later realizes it was an accident. Akshara and Abhimanyu decide to marry again for Abhir, who is in depression after Abhinav's death. During a pre-wedding ceremony, Akshara is revealed to be pregnant with Abhinav's child. Aarohi dies due to Ruhi's mistake, but to save Ruhi from the trauma, Akshara takes the blame on herself. Ruhi starts to hate Akshara, so for Ruhi's sake, she leaves the house. Generation 4 22 years later, Akshara, now a lawyer and a resort keeper, lives in Mussoorie with her law aspirant daughter, Abhira. Armaan and Ruhi fall for each other. Ruhi reluctantly marries Armaan's half-brother, Rohit. Akshara is shot by Abhira's stalker, Yuvraj, and asks Armaan to marry Abhira to protect her, and dies. Abhira and Armaan enter a one-year contract marriage and develop a bond of friendship. Rohit leaves home after learning about Armaan and Ruhi's affair before marriage and is presumed dead. Abhira is revealed to have fertility issues, and Armaan decides not to leave Abhira. Abhira and Armaan get married while Ruhi moves on with Rohit. Later, both Abhira and Ruhi are pregnant, and they develop a sisterly bond. Later, both families learn that Abhira is Akshara's daughter, and the Goenkas accept the latter, except Ruhi. Ruhi gives birth to a son, Daksh, while Abhira's baby is born dead. Abhir is revealed to be alive and now a singer, returns and hates the Goenkas for banishing Akshara, but bonds with Abhira and Ruhi. Abhir and Charu fall in love and decide to marry. Blackmailed by Sanjay, Charu runs away on the wedding day, and Abhir marries Kiara in anger. Abhira unites Armaan with his alive mother, Shivani. Ruhi decides to become the surrogate mother for Abhira and Armaan's child. Rohit and Shivani die, and Abhira and Armaan take care of Ruhi and Daksh. Seven years later, Abhira, Kaveri, and Vidya live in a rented house and live a normal middle-class life. Sanjay and Krish conspired against Kaveri and made her sign all the documents and assets, and had taken over the Poddar house and renamed as Bansal House, but didn't change the law business to their name. Vidya and Kaveri run a saree business named Kesari Vastra, while Abhira resumes her law practice and tries to find Pookie in every city, remembering her. Madhav is transferred to another city, and the Goenkas relocated to Japan, and Ruhi goes along with them. Abhir and Charu got married and settled in Japan. In Mount Abu, Armaan becomes a radio jockey and stays with Pookie, who is renamed as Maira. It is revealed that Armaan receives a call from the truck driver about Pookie, and he finds her. However, Armaan decides not to tell Abhira, as he thinks she is irresponsible in handling a child. They both stay in a PG with a lady, Geetanjali, and her grandfather. Maira sees an advertisement about Vidya and Kaveri's business and calls Abhira and places an order for a saree. They all reach Mount Abu to meet Maira and deliver the saree to her. Later, Kaveri, Vidya, and Abhira present their business plan to a business tycoon named Anshuman. Kaveri, Vidya, and Abhira attend Krish's engagement with Tanya and learn that Tanya is Anshuman's sister. Anshuman agrees with their business plan and invests in their business. Maira secretly goes to Udaipur for a dance competition. Armaan discovers this and goes to Udaipur to find her. Kaveri, Vidya, and Abhira set up their stall at a fair. They again meet Maira, who accidentally spoils their stall. Armaan reaches there and finds Maira with Abhira. Kaveri sees Armaan with Maira and Geetanjali. She realizes that Maira is Pookie, and Armaan has moved on. She arranges Armaan and Abhira's divorce and tells Abhira to move on from her past. Later Armaan gets engaged to Geetanjali for Maira's sake but realises his misdeeds and injustice done to Abhira and return to Udaipur to tell her the truth but Kaveri stops him and blackmails him into convincing Abhira to move on with Anshuman. Later Anshuman halts the wedding to search "Pookie". Soon Abhira finds out that Pookie is none other than Maira and takes her back to Goenka House. Maira who struggles to bond with Abhira grows close to her after realising her mistakes of hurting Abhira in one of schemes by Geetanjali. Abhira forgives Armaan and decides to resume her marriage with Anshuman but both realise that she still loves Armaan and backs off. Meanwhile, Geetanjali threatens Armaan into marrying her by blackmailing to hurt Abhira and Maira. Anshuman dies and Abhira gets accused but Armaan proves her innocent after exposing Kiara's drug peddler friend being the reason behind his death. Abhir helps Kiara get over her drug addiction meanwhile Kaveri takes Abhira and Maira to Mussoorie for healing Abhira out of her trauma. Coincidentally Armaan and Geetanjali comes to Abhira's resort for a honeymoon on Vidya's insistence. However Geetanjali tries to establish a physical relationship with Armaan in his drunken state and after being denied the same tries to kill Abhira and Maira but herself falls to her death. Five months later, Abhira and Armaan work together and stays with Maira in Poddar House. Abhira goes to Jaipur to pursue a course and stays in the hostel. Armaan also goes to Jaipur and surprises Abhira. Meanwhile, Vidya and Kajal have a tiff as Kajal believes that Tanya is being sidelined and mistreated. Madhav returns to Poddar house and all family members were elated to see him. During Armaan and Abhira's stay in the hostel, they develop their feelings for each other. Armaan and Abhira save a couple from separating and later on, they confess their love and marry. The Poddars hear the news of their marriage and prepares for their welcome.
