Bacon was selected by the Atlanta Falcons in the sixth round, with the 202nd overall pick, of the 2003 NFL draft. He officially signed with the team on June 18, 2003. Bacon was signed to the practice squad of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on September 4, 2003. He was waived on September 3, 2005. He re-signed with the Colts the next year on August 14, 2006, but was waived again September 2, 2006. He played in one game for the Kats during the 2007 season, totaling five solo tackles. He was waived on March 5, 2007. He was promoted to the active roster on May 13, 2007, and played in three games for the Desperados, recording eight solo tackles, one assisted tackle and one forced fumble.
