2020 census, Avon Lake had a population of 25,206. The median age was 45.0 years. 23.1% of residents were under the age of 18 and 21.3% of residents were 65 years of age or older. For every 100 females there were 92.9 males, and for every 100 females age 18 and over there were 89.7 males age 18 and over. There were 10,255 households in Avon Lake, of which 30.5% had children under the age of 18 living in them.
