History
The club was founded on June 1, 1981 under the name HSG Nordhorn. It was founded as a fusion of Eintracht Nordhorn and Sparta Nordhorn. In the 2018-19 season the club was promoted to the Bundesliga once again by finishing second in the second Bundesliga.
