Racial and ethnic composition 2020 census As of the
2020 census, Indian Harbour Beach had a population of 9,019. The median age was 52.2 years. 16.1% of residents were under the age of 18 and 28.6% of residents were 65 years of age or older. For every 100 females there were 92.8 males, and for every 100 females age 18 and over there were 92.0 males age 18 and over. 100.0% of residents lived in urban areas, while 0.0% lived in rural areas. There were 4,077 households in Indian Harbour Beach, of which 22.2% had children under the age of 18 living in them. Of all households, 47.0% were married-couple households, 18.9% were households with a male householder and no spouse or partner present, and 28.3% were households with a female householder and no spouse or partner present. About 31.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 16.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.

The average household size was 2.17 and the average family size was 2.69. In 2000, the population was distributed by age with 18.5% under the age of 18, 5.4% from 18 to 24, 23.6% from 25 to 44, 27.5% from 45 to 64, and 24.9% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 46 years. For every 100 females, there were 90.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 87.0 males.
