2020 census, Lewiston had a population of 34,203. The median age was 39.9 years. 5.4% of residents were under age 5, 21.3% were under 18, and 20.7% were 65 years of age or older. For every 100 females there were 95.2 males, and for every 100 females age 18 and over there were 93.5 males age 18 and over. 99.4% of residents lived in urban areas, while 0.6% lived in rural areas. The average household size was 2.36 and the average family size was 2.88. In the city, the population was spread out, with 23.3% under the age of 18, 10.7% from 18 to 24, 26.7% from 25 to 44, 22.3% from 45 to 64, and 17.0% who were 65 years of age or older.
