2020 census, Palos Verdes Estates had a population of 13,347 and a population density of . The age distribution was 20.1% under the age of 18, 7.5% aged 18 to 24, 12.3% aged 25 to 44, 31.9% aged 45 to 64, and 28.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 52.4 years. For every 100 females, there were 93.0 males, and for every 100 females age 18 and over there were 90.0 males age 18 and over. 100.0% of residents lived in urban areas, while 0.0% lived in rural areas. The whole population lived in households. There were 5,017 households in Palos Verdes Estates, of which 30.0% had children under the age of 18 living in them. Of all households, 67.9% were married-couple households, 2.5% were
cohabiting couple households, 9.7% were households with a male householder and no spouse or partner present, and 19.8% were households with a female householder and no spouse or partner present. About 17.6% of households were made up of individuals, and 12.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.66. The median age was 49.9 years. For every 100 females, there were 95.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 93.0 males.
