The National Green Tribunal (NGT) is a statutory body in India that focuses on expeditious disposal of cases related to the protection of the natural environment and natural resources. It was set up under the National Green Tribunal Act in 2010. India is the third country in the world, after Australia and New Zealand, to set up a statutory body for environmental protection. Its national headquarters is in New Delhi, with regional headquarters in the cities of Bhopal, Pune, Kolkata and Chennai.
