Nogaysky District is an administrative and municipal district (raion), one of the forty-one in the Republic of Dagestan, Russia. It is named after the members of the Karanogay or Qara-Nogai ethnicity who live in the district. Nogaysky District is located in the north of Dagestan. The area of the district is 9,000 square kilometers (3,500 sq mi). Its administrative center is the rural locality of Terekli-Mekteb. As of the 2010 Census, the total population of the district was 22,472, with the population of Terekli-Mekteb accounting for 35.6% of that number.
