2020 census As of the
2020 census, Piperton had a population of 2,263, with 652 families residing in the city. The median age was 54.0 years, 14.0% of residents were under the age of 18, and 24.0% of residents were 65 years of age or older. For every 100 females there were 98.2 males, and for every 100 females age 18 and over there were 97.1 males age 18 and over. 13.7% of residents lived in urban areas, while 86.3% lived in rural areas. There were 895 households in Piperton, of which 23.1% had children under the age of 18 living in them. Of all households, 72.0% were married-couple households, 11.4% were households with a male householder and no spouse or partner present, and 14.0% were households with a female householder and no spouse or partner present. About 16.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 8.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. There were 934 housing units, of which 4.2% were vacant. There were 259 households, of which 15.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 69.5% were married couples living together, 6.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 20.1% were non-families. 18.1% of households were one person and 7.7% were one person aged 65 or older. The average household size was 2.27 and the average family size was 2.53. The age distribution was 13.1% under the age of 18, 4.9% from 18 to 24, 18.8% from 25 to 44, 36.5% from 45 to 64, and 26.7% 65 or older. The median age was 53 years. For every 100 females, there were 92.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 91.8 males. The median household income was $49,583 and the median family income was $62,500. Males had a median income of $43,929 versus $32,750 for females. The per capita income for the city was $28,435.
