2020 census As of the
2020 census, Saluda had a population of 3,122, with 1,169 households and 756 families residing in the town. The median age was 34.9 years. 29.0% of residents were under the age of 18 and 16.2% of residents were 65 years of age or older. For every 100 females there were 92.2 males, and for every 100 females age 18 and over there were 91.3 males age 18 and over. Of the town's households, 38.1% had children under the age of 18 living in them. Of all households, 34.9% were married-couple households, 21.0% were households with a male householder and no spouse or partner present, and 39.5% were households with a female householder and no spouse or partner present. About 30.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 14.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. There were 1,312 housing units, of which 10.9% were vacant. The homeowner vacancy rate was 2.8% and the rental vacancy rate was 4.9%.

The average household size was 2.75 and the average family size was 3.21. In the town, the population was spread out, with 28.0% under the age of 18, 12.2% from 18 to 24, 28.1% from 25 to 44, 18.6% from 45 to 64, and 13.1% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 31 years. For every 100 females, there were 97.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 93.9 males. The median income for a household in the town was $26,964, and the median income for a family was $31,042. Males had a median income of $25,208 versus $19,921 for females. The
