Sardis is a town in Panola County, Mississippi, United States. As of the 2020 census, the town population was 1,748. Sardis is one of two county seats for Panola County; the other is Batesville, on the south side of the Tallahatchie River.

2020 census As of the 2020 census, Sardis had a population of 1,748. The median age was 42.3 years. 24.1% of residents were under the age of 18 and 21.8% of residents were 65 years of age or older. For every 100 females there were 89.0 males, and for every 100 females age 18 and over there were 86.2 males age 18 and over. 0.0% of residents lived in urban areas, while 100.0% lived in rural areas. There were 701 households in Sardis, of which 30.2% had children under the age of 18 living in them. Of all households, 25.2% were married-couple households, 26.8% were households with a male householder and no spouse or partner present, and 41.5% were households with a female householder and no spouse or partner present. About 36.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 15.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. of 2000, there were 2,038 people, 790 households, and 493 families residing in the town. In the town, the population was spread out, with 26.1% under the age of 18, 9.2% from 18 to 24, 21.2% from 25 to 44, 22.3% from 45 to 64, and 21.2% who were 65 years of age or older.
