Vasantasena: a wealthy courtesan(nagarvadhu) who lives a life of utmost luxury but falls in love with Chārudatta for his extremely noble nature. Madanika: Vasantasena's attendant Sansthanaka: the evil brother-in-law of the King Palaka; Sansthanaka fancies Vasantasena.
