Whittier is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Jackson and Swain counties in the western part of the U.S. state of North Carolina. It was first listed as a CDP in the 2020 census with a population of 25.

History
Founded in 1881 by Dr. Clarke Whittier when he purchased of land in the area, it was incorporated as a town from 1887 to 1933. The town declined following the collapse of the lumber industry during the Great Depression. == Sequoyah National Golf Club ==
Sequoyah National Golf Club
Owned by Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, this 6,600 yards par 72 championship course has views of the Great Smoky Mountains. It was renovated in 2009 by Robert Trent Jones Jr, of the Robert Trent Jones II firm together with pro golfer Notah Begay III. ==Demographics==
