Molander signed with the
Cleveland Browns of the
National Football League (NFL) in May 1989. He spent the 1990 off-season with the
New York Giants of the NFL. He was a member of the
New York/New Jersey Knights of the
World League of American Football in 1991. He was released by the Knights on March 14, 1991. Molander was a member of the Oregon Lightning Bolts of the
Professional Spring Football League. The league never played a game. He played for the
Charlotte Rage of the AFL in 1992, recording 28 touchdowns on 1,859 passing yards. In 1993, Molander played for the Espoo Colts in the
Vaahteraliiga in Finland, leading the team to a 3-6-1 record. He played for the
Las Vegas Sting of the AFL from 1994 to 1995, recording 57 touchdowns on 3,958 passing yards. Molander played for the AFL's
Anaheim Piranhas in 1996, recording 39 touchdowns on 2,728 yards. He played for the
Helsinki Roosters in 1997-1998 seasons winning the
Vaahteraliiga championship in both seasons. In the 1997 regular season he threw for 1,101 yards and 16 touchdowns in ten games. ==Coaching career==
